She's alive and well, she got married recently and still releases album and singles in italian. She won the Festival of Sanremo (the most important music competition in Italy)a few years ago.
She's still releasing songs in Italy (Italian songs) - and she's still walking!
Injured in a car crash, now she cannot walk.
